Screen Protectors Confirmed To Work With iPhone 6S

Screen protectors for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus will work with the latest iPhone too.

The iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus have gone through a unique technology change called 3D Touch.

It allows the device to support new gestures that are based on pressure and touch. 3D Touch lives up to expectations of people through capacitive sensors inserted in the backlight illumination of the devices.

This inclusion made tiny changes between the glass cover of the display and the backlight. It combines signals from the touch sensor and the accelerometer to react to finger weight.

Due to the way 3D Touch works, there were various rumors that screen protectors may not be able to work with the new phones.

Apple Marketing Chief Phil Schiller confirmed in an email to 3D Techtronics that screen protectors that comply with Apple's design guidelines will work with 3D Touch.

Apple's design rules for iPhone cases say any screen overlay must be electrically conductive, should not surpass 0.3mm in thickness, and must not introduce air gaps between the touch screen.

There are a few Apple-endorsed screen protectors that are available to buy from the online Apple Store and through Apple's retail stores, including Tech21, Belkin, and 3M.

Since the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus are comparable in size to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, it's reasonable that these screen protectors will fit Apple's new devices.

Apple's iPhone 6S and 6S Plus with 3D Touch are available for pre-order. The new iPhones will be officially announced on 25th September.
