According to the latest scientific evidence the global warming aporia actually didn’t occur at all. It was just a trick of statistical observation due to faulty instruments of measurement.

The silence before the storm was just an illusion. There had been much speculation regarding the break the planet’s environmental status got from the spate of global warming. But now new evidence suggests that this was nothing but an error in recording.

The study that got carried out points out that the slow motion effect that had overtaken global warming was a mere placebo that humanity had been given to keep it placid and calm amidst the disasters that were wreaked on the environment.

The study, titled "Debunking the climate hiatus," published online this week in the journal Climatic Change.

The scientific studies that claimed that a brief aporia had occurred in global warming were put to the test. They were literally weighed in the balance and found wanting. According to common sense, global warming took a hiatus from 1998 to 2013.

"We translated the various scientific claims and assertions that have been made about the hiatus and tested to see whether they stand up to rigorous statistical scrutiny," said study lead author Bala Rajaratnam, an assistant professor of statistics and of Earth system science.

But now we are hearing that the opposite is the case from the experts. The novel heuristic or rule of thumb that got used measures geophysical process to see what effects they are having. The lull supposedly never happened.

"Our results clearly show that, in terms of the statistics of the long-term global temperature data, there never was a hiatus, a pause or a slowdown in global warming," said Noah Diffenbaugh, a climate scientist in the School of Earth, Energy & Environmental Sciences, and a co-author of the study.

This brings in the question of doubting what were supposed to be the obvious facts. The oceanic buoys that measured mean temperatures around the globe were actually registering cooler readings than the ships that circulated in nearby areas.

Once the buoys were rectified as regards their erroneous readings, the whole story of the lull in global warming changed tenor. The out-of-order buoys were responsible for the cooler readings and humanity kept on dozing off in its unconscious slumber completely ignorant of the rising global temperatures.

The team which undertook the new study also examined the statistics regarding the procedure. And they found plenty of loopholes in the arguments for a hiatus in global warming.

What was happening was that the models that the scientists had been employing were more applicable to biology or medicine. They did not measure up to the standards of environmental science.

The temperature, precipitation and other processes were gauged by tools that were not meant for them in the first place. The ocean surface temperatures that got recorded by the buoys were reflective of the warmth stored by the depths as well.

As the saying goes, still waters run deep. The new methodology used by the scientists is called sub-sampling. And it is light years ahead of the previous recording procedures. What is shows is that no such lull in global warming took place.
