Apple WatchOS 2 Released with Some Bugs Remaining

The Apple WatchOS 2 has been released. Developer report that some bugs remain.

The Apple WatchOS 2 release is here. Owners of the Apple Watch can now update their device with the new operating system. To get the update, users need to open the Apple Watch App and go to General and chose Software Update. The new update appears. iOS 9 is required on the iPhone for WatchOS 2.

Apple planned to release Apple WatchOS 2 on September 16 along with the iOS 9 release. Apple said that a major bug has caused the delay. Watch App developers reported several bugs. Apparently some of the spotted bugs remain in the WatchOS 2 release version.

At this point it is not clear which bugs have caused the delay of almost a week. The WatchKit Interface bugs thought to have caused the delay are still in the general release of WatchOS 2 according to a new post on the Apple developer support discussion board.

While these issues are concerning developers, Apple Watch users are not affected at this point.

The new Apple WatchOS adds the crucial native app support that should add a lot to the Apple Watch functionality. It allows app developers access the sensors on the Apple Watch and work without the iPhone. There are new Watch faces and the new Time-Lapse watch face that shows time-lapse videos shot over 24 hours in iconic locations around the world.

Apple also allows users to customize Watch faces with compilations to display the state apps at all times. Another cool new feature is Time Travel. With Time Travel, users can turn the Digital Crown to see what’s happening and what’s already happened yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Users can see what the weather will be like for a lunch date in a few hours or checking the schedule for tomorrow.

The night stand feature coming in WatchOS 2 turns the Apple Watch into a neat little alarm clock. Apple Watch users should definitely upgrade to WatchOS 2 to take the Apple Watch to the next level.
