Microsoft Band 50% off Ahead of Band 2 Announcement

Best Buy blows out the Microsoft Band fitness tracker with $100 off.

Microsoft is expected to unveil the Microsoft Band 2 at an event on October 6. Best Buy is apparently sitting on a big lot of current Microsoft Bands. Today Best Buy offered the Microsoft Band for $99.99. This is 50% off the regular price.

The Microsoft Band comes with Microsoft Health to monitor wellness goals by tracking your heart rate, steps, calorie burn and sleep quality. The Microsoft Band has a built-in GPS to track distance. Microsoft's first Band offers user e-mail previews and calendar alerts. Cortana is also accessible through the Band.

Compatible with Windows Phone 8.1, Apple iOS 8.1.2 or Android 4.3 - 5.0 smartphones, the Band offers Bluetooth LE connectivity, dust- and splash-resistant casing and a 1.4" LCD with IPS technology.

At $99.99 the Microsoft Band is an interesting deal as the Band offers a comprehensive feature set for most users including GPS tracking. Best Buy offers the Large, Medium and Small versions of the Microsoft Band today only at the $99.99 price.

The price on Amazon for the Microsoft Band is at around $140.

Yesterday images of the Microsoft Band 2 have leaked. The new Band has a curved screen and has more sophisticated overall design. The new features include an altimeter as additional sensor.

Microsoft will host a media event on October 6 that will bring besides the Band 2 also the Surface Pro 4 and new Windows 10 phones. The hottest rumor is about a powerful Surface Phone.
