Kevin Durant just announced to join Derek Jeter's Player's Tribune site. Twitter has some fun with his title: Deputy Publisher.

Basketball star Kevin Durant joins Player's Tribune as Deputy Publisher. Derek Jeter launched Player's Tribune a year ago, just after he retired from professional Baseball.

The Player's Tribune site's mission is to bring fans and athletes together. "My goal is for the site to ultimately transform how athletes and newsmakers share information, bringing fans closer than ever to the games they love, " says Derek Jeter about the site.

The addition of Kevin Durant should give the site a nice push. Right now David Oritz has several articles featured on the site. One of the featured stories is by Derek Jeter, remembering Yogi Berra.

In case you are wondering, Deputy Publisher is a job title that does exist. Large publications like the LA Times have a Deputy Publisher position. How much time 26-year-old Kevin Durant will have to dedicate to his new job in the online publishing world remains to be seen.

He just got cleared to play again for the Oklahoma City Thunder team after a foot injury.

He had three surgeries to fix his foot.
