A new intelligent T-Shirt monitors the spine and helps people to maintain a healthy back posture.

Adela Health launches today a smart T-Shirt to promote healthy back posture and help reduce back pain. The TruPosture shirt has multiple sensors that monitor the wearer's spine. TruPosture will train the wearer with feedback through visual displays and gentle vibrations to help the wearer achieve and maintain their ideal posture.

Wearable posture gadgets are not new. There is for instance the Lumo Lift, which debuted back at CES 2014. We asked Dan Ikoyan, Founder & CEO of Adela Health, what makes TruPosture different:

"The TruPosture shirt uses 5 sensors to measure the curvature of the entire spine, from the first Thoracic vertebra (T1) down to the pelvis. The sensors are embedded in the shirt along the spine for best accuracy. The TruPosture shirt also provides vibration feedback at the location in the spine where the posture is off. This allows TruPosture to report and accurately correct the complex curves of the entire spine therefore achieving a true healthy posture."

The Lumo Lift has only one sensor that is worn on a shirt lapel. The TruPosture shirt promises to be much more accurate and specific about the spine shape.

The TruPosture shirt launches today on Indigogo with a funding goal of $50,000. The TruPosture shirt has a promotional price during the crowd-funding campaign of $99. The regular price will be $199.
