Black Friday Ads feature Same Deals Each Year

Some Black Friday deals come back every year.

Each year retailers published the highly anticipated Black Friday ads. These ads are the bible for Black Friday shopping fans. Shoppers are so accustomed to print ad layout that the online versions look the same.

Some Black Friday ads are almost books with over 60 pages. To fill these pages, some retailers are reusing deals from the past years. These recurring deals are usually on ever green items like housewares. Shopping site BradsDeals identified some of the Black Friday deals that come back every year. Some retailers like Target are also sticking to the layout each year, only making minor changes.

Target for instance advertised three years in a row $19 kitchen appliances.

This is though not surprising. Black Friday ads are an anachronism. Consumers have a sentimental relationship with these ads. Many Black Friday shoppers have rituals around those ads. They are excited to read them and use them for making their Black Friday shopping plan. This is why Black Friday ads do not change in the layout that much. There is a certain style to them that needs to be maintained.

Retailers use some deals again because they work and it saves time and resources. The copied pages could also just be a filler to make an ad appear bigger. In either case, the repeat deals are the deals that are not important for a successful Black Friday.

The big trends for Black Friday 2015 deals will be again TVs, smartphones, smartwatches, video game consoles, and Windows 10 devices. Wearables and Drones will also be hot categories for the Holiday shopping seasons this year.
