Samsung Gear S2 Finally Available In US

The much anticipated watch from Samsung is now available in the USA.

Pretty much as reported, the new Samsung Gear 2 formally went on sale in the U.S., yet only one variant will be shipped in a few days.

The Samsung Gear 2 is the most recent smartwatch from the company and has raised a lot of enthusiasm because of its more extensive compatibility, as it can work with more Android devices from OEMs other than Samsung.

The smartwatch released in the U.S. on Friday, Oct. 2, yet just the Dark Gray model will be prepared to begin shipping in the following couple of days.

The Gear S2 Silver variant and the Gear S2 Classic (Black), in the interim, will take 3 - 4 weeks to deliver.

Interested users can order any of these three models directly from Samsung's site. The Gear S2 in Silver or Dark Gray costs $299.99, while the Gear S2 Classic goes up to $349.99.

It is worth pointing out that only the Bluetooth versions of the Samsung Gear S2 are available for purchase now, as the 3G models are still listed with a "coming soon" label.

The Samsung Gear 2 and Gear 2 Classic run Tizen OS, not Android Wear, and have 1.2-inch round-shaped Super AMOLED displays with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels.

Samsung settled on rectangular structure components with its first smartwatches, yet circular smartwatches proved to be more popular among consumers.

The Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic work with Samsung's Galaxy line of phones, and in addition any Android phones with no less than 1.5GB of RAM and Android 4.4 or higher on the software side.

Both the Gear S2 and the Gear S2 Classic have rotating bezels around the display, permitting users to explore through the user interface (UI), and both can deal with the intermittent splash because of their water-safe form.

The two watches separate themselves from each other through design, as the Gear S2 accompanies a modern outline while the Gear S2 Classic, similar to the name itself recommends, resembles a classic watch.

The 3G models of the Samsung Gear S2 will be available to buy from later this year, both in the U.S. also, in different markets.

However the company has yet to declare particular availability details. The Gear S2 Classic in the interim, comes just with Bluetooth connectivity with no 3G model.
