The soda giant is said to be venturing into different areas.

The rumors are true: PepsiCo is working on a smartphone, according to Daily Mail.

A spokesman for the company said explicitly: "We are pleased to share that Pepsi is working with a licensing partner to bring a line of mobile phones and accessories to market in China in the next few months."

The phone will only be available in China, something that ties into Pepsi's recent venture in licensed products, which also includes accessories and apparel.

The only other details that have been made public include that there will be a handset and all that comes with it. Other rumors say that the handsets will have a 5.5" screen, fingerprint reading capabilities, and a 13-megapixel camera. Other reports say that the handset will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop and have a 5.5", 1080p screen. Inside, there is said to be a 1.7GHz processor, 2GB of Ram, 16GB of internal storage and a 3,000 milliamp-hour battery. Leaked images show a potential sensor and physical buttons.

Pepsi wants to stay on top of the market, and with recent sales dwindling, they want to try to come back.

The ultimate reveal will be in Beijing on October, 20, 2015, according to reports. It is estimated that the phone will go on sale for about $206 and will be available around the holiday season.

The leaked image below is not confirmed by Pepsi or anyone related to the making of the phone, but it is the best bet so far.
