Tag Heuer Connected Smartwatch Teased, Looks Different from Carrera Heuer 01

Tag Heuer teased an image of the Tag Heuer Android Wear smartwatch. It raises a lot of questions.

The Tag Heuer Smartwatch will not at all look like the Tag Heuer Carrera Heuer 01 watch. The first image of the Tag Heuer Connected smartwatch shows a very different watch design. The name of the Tag Heuer Smartwatch apparently also changed.

The revealed image shows that the Tag Heuer smartwatch has a crown, but no buttons like the Tag Heuer Carrera Heuer 01. This makes sense, but also the design of the bezel ring is significantly different.

Tag Heuer Carrera Heuer 01

Initially Tag Heuer's CEO Jean-Claude Biver referred to the Tag Heuer Android Wear smartwatch as Tag Heuer Carrera Wearable 01. The new countdown site for the Tag Heuer Smartwatch says Tag Heuer Connected. This name is also engraved on the bezel ring of the Tag Heuer Smartwatch, which makes that the official name.

Tag Heuer counts down to the Tag Heuer Connected event on November 9 in New York on a new site launched for the Tag Heuer Connected. In less than a month Tag Heuer will unveil the most expensive Android Wear Watch. Early October Jean-Claude Biver revealed that the first Tag Heuer smartwatch has a price-tag of $1,800.

This is almost 10 times more expensive than a budget Android Wear smartwatch from consumer electronics vendors. Will it be worth it? Tag Heuer watches work on emotions. I know first hand. I own since many years a Tag Heuer Monaco and it is for me the most beautiful watch. There is no other. Jean-Claude Biver shows off the watch he currently wears below and says that he looks at his Tag not for time but to marvel at its looks. Will the Swiss watchmaker be able to transport the emotion of the brand onto the Tag Heuer Connected?
