Today the new must have Tag Heuer watch for Steve McQueen fans goes on sale.

Tag Heuer announced today that the re-edition of the original Heuer Monaco Calibre 11 that Steve McQueen has worn is shipping now. The 39mm square watch has all the iconic details of the original Tag Heuer Monaco watch.

The Tag Heuer Monaco Calibre 11 CAW211P.FC6356 features a minute chronograph counter at 9 o'clock, Running second counter at 3 o'clock, Polished horizontal faceted indexes and luminescent dots, hour and minute hands with red line and luminescent markers, Black counters' hands and Red chronograph central second hand.

The re-edition Tag Heuer Monaco Calibre 11 has a steel case and bezel. The face cover is not plastic like on previous Tag Heuer Monaco watches. It is made from Sapphire crystal. The new Heuer Monaco Calibre 11 is water-proof to 100m.

The bracelet is made from black perforated calfskin strap and closes with steel folding clasp with safety.

The Calibre 11 movement is of course Swiss made. The balance frequency is 28'800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). The Power reserve is about 40 hours.

Steve McQueen made the Tag Heuer Monaco one of the most iconic wristwatches. Now Tag Heuer paid tribute with a stunning re-edition of the classic Monaco. The price of the Tag Heuer CAW211P.FC6356 is $5,500. Buyers can find the watch now in Tag Heuer retail locations. See the Tag Heuer Monaco Calibre 11 page for store locations.

Tag Heuer is making a foray into smartwatches with the Tag Heuer Connected. The Swiss watch maker will unveil the $1,800 Tag Heuer Connected on November 9. The first teaser image of the Android Wear watch has been released this week.

Tag Heuer will have a hard time generating as much emotional appeal for the Connected as it has for the Monaco.
