Belk is rumored to move up its Black Friday schedule this year with special Wednesday before Thanksgiving Day sales.

Update November 1:

Belk will not kick off Black Friday 2015 sales on Wednesday. The 72-page Belk Black Friday 2015 ad has been released and says that stores open like last year at 6pm on Thanksgiving Day for the Belk Black Friday 2015 sale.

Black Friday 2015 could be a turning point in store opening hours, considering the announcements of Staples and GameStop to keep stores closed on Thanksgiving Day. These early indicators of scaling back Black Friday 2015 store opening hours could be misleading. The past years had only one direction. Retailers opened their stores earlier and earlier for Black Friday sales.

Belk is rumored to do exactly that. BFAds's sources say that Belk will offer a Black Friday 2015 sale on Wednesday, November 25. The early Belk Black Friday event is supposedly called "Black Friday Bonus Buys" at 2pm. The Belk stores will stay open until 10pm on Wednesday according to the anonymous source. The full Belk Black Friday 2015 sale then begins at 6pm on Thanksgiving Day, like last year.

Belk is not the first store to offer early Black Friday sales in the days ahead of Thanksgiving Day.

The Belk Black Friday Ad was released end of October for the previous Black Friday. The ad featured over 400 early bird deals including 50-65% off toys & Tech Gifts, $9.99 Remote Control Cars, $99.99 Monster Ncredible Ntune HD Headphones, Kitchenaid Mixers extra 15% off + $50 Rebate, $99.99 Keurig Mini Plus with Free $20 Gift Card, $19.99 Rampage Boots & Booties, 75% off Belk Silverworks and 50-70% off Watches.

Belk announced last month to hire 58,000 seasonal employees to handle the Black Friday and Holiday shopping season.

Charlotte, N.C.-based Belk, Inc. is the nation's largest family owned and operated department store company with 297 Belk stores located in 16 Southern states and a growing digital presence. Its online store offers a wide assortment of national brands and private label fashion apparel, shoes and accessories for the entire family along with top name cosmetics, a wedding registry and a large selection of quality merchandise for the home.

Founded in 1888 by William Henry Belk in Monroe, N.C., the company is in the third generation of Belk family leadership and has been committed to community involvement since its inception. As the fiscal year ended January 31, 2015, the company and its associates, customers and vendors donated more than $21.5 million to communities within Belk market areas.

This year the Black Friday ads started to leak early. The Half Price Books Black Friday 2015 Ad already leaked on October 2nd. This feeds the hope of Black Friday shoppers that more Black Friday 2015 ads will be released or leaked early. We have seen though, early leaks of ads and then long weeks of no new ads surfacing.
