Star Wars Tickets are Already on Sale in the UK
Star Wars / Disney

British cinemas have started to sell Star Wars: The Force Awakens Tickets at 8am.

Star Wars fans in the UK can buy Star Wars: The Force Awakens tickets now. Odeon has started the Star Wars ticket sale this morning in the UK. American Star Wars fans will have apparently to wait until 8:30pm Eastern for the Star Wars tickets to go on sale.

Just tried to purchase a Star Wars ticket in the BFI IMAX in London (UK's biggest screen). The purchase process is already slow, but still works and tickets are still readily available for the first day, December 17. Episode VII is premiering a day earlier in the UK than in the United States. Odeon is giving away thousands of pounds worth of Star Wars prize bundles every week to customers ordering Star Wars tickets online.

Odeon has temporarily suspended Star Wars Ticket sales. The demand has been crashing the ordering systems of Odeon and others. We have testing in the early morning and there it was still working, but now ordering a ticket has become a pain. Some Twitter user reports that ordering over the Odeon app still works fine.

Vue and Cineworld are also set to start selling Star Wars tickets today. Vue is offering Star Wars: The Force Awakens tickets here. As for writing this report, Cineworld has not began selling Star Wars tickets.

The tickets will sell out quickly and Star Wars fans that do not order tickets today will have to wait days until they can see Star Wars: The Force Awakens in theaters. The hype around Star Wars is extreme.

Today during ESPN's Monday Night Football, the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer will premiere. The Star Wars ticket sale is supposed to begin right after the trailer airs. This should be around 9pm ET.
