Xiaomi has launched Ninebot mini for $315.

Xiaomi, a Chinese Company has announced a new device called Segway. It is a Ninebot mini for just $315 (£203). Xiaomi is one of the biggest investors in Ninebot.

It is the China Based Company that recently bought Segway. It is the only device manufactured after the partnership.

Segway is the self-balancing scooter and is twenty times less than the price of the original one. The device can move up to 16km/h (10 mph), tackle 15 degree hills and run up to 22 km in a single battery.

According to Xiaomi, it can easily fit in the trunk of our car. The firmware can also be updated and the speed, traffic data and systems can be monitored through your smartphone.

Xiaomi is advertising the Ninebot mini as a cool youth toy. But Segway seems nice in real too. The device will be launched on November 3rd in China.

There is no confirmation if the device is going to launch in any other countries of the world or not.

However, Ninebot has updated its French website with an offer to be informed of the availability.

That clearly implies that the device will most probably be available in Europe, so it may come to the US after all.
