Chris Rock confirmed to host the Oscars 2016 for the second time after 10 years and the board is very happy with Chris’ talent to be taking the stage.

As soon as the Oscars are done every year and the Vanity Fair party follows and the gossip pf the dresses and winners die down, there is only one thing on everyone’s mind. What about next year?

The most essential part of each and every Oscar ceremony is of course, the host. This year, Neil Patrick Harris performed the duties with a great flair for a debutant. His acting, singing and comedic skills came in very handy on the stage and his performance was admired.

Many would say that it was a tough act to follow. So the production and direction team put their heads together and sought for their best option to host the 2016 Oscars. They concluded that there was no one better than Chris Rock for the job.

Chris has already been up on that stage once to host the 77th Annual Oscars in 2005. The performance then was not very successful according to most critics.

Now 11 years wiser, the Oscar team thinks that Chris is definitely a more refined and much more accomplished performer. Rock confirmed the news when he tweeted alongside a photo of him holding an Oscar captioned ‘Look who's back.’

Producers David Hill and Reginald Hudlin said in a statement that Chris Rock is truly the MVP of the entertainment industry. Comedian, actor, writer, producer, director, documentarian – he’s done it all. He’s going to be a phenomenal Oscar host!. Reggie might have been the one to suggest Rock after he had worked with him on Everybody Hates Chris.

Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs added to their comments by saying that they share David and Reggie’s excitement in welcoming Chris. His comedic voice has really defined a generation. He is certain to bring his amazing array of talents to this year’s show.

The President of ABC Entertainment, Paul Lee also referred to Chris as a “comedic powerhouse. Academy CEO, Dawn Hudson, had great words to say about Chris when she said that Chris may be best known as a stand-up comic, but they think of him as a creative innovator in many other ways. He is unafraid in his artistry. A trait that is similar to Neil Patrick Harris.

"Chris Rock is truly the MVP of the entertainment industry," said Hill and Hudlin. "Comedian, actor, writer, producer, director, documentarian – he’s done it all. He’s going to be a phenomenal Oscar host!"

"We share David and Reggie’s excitement in welcoming Chris, whose comedic voice has really defined a generation," said Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs. "He is certain to bring his amazing array of talents to this year’s show."

"Chris may be best known as a stand-up comic, but we think of him as a creative innovator in many other ways. He is unafraid in his artistry,” said Academy CEO Dawn Hudson. “We couldn’t be happier to welcome him back to the Oscars."
