3D Touch is now being used in interesting new ways.

A new app named as Plum-O-Meter has been developed by Simon Gladman for iPhone 6S users. The new app will use the phone’s 3D Touch to compare weight between different objects.

It is important to note that the app does not tell the actual weight of the object. Instead, it only shows which object is heavier when placed on an iPhone’s screen.

The app is named after the fruit, Plum, which was placed on the phone during a demonstration.

The app used the iPhone 6S’s 3D Touch to show the weight of fruits relative to the phone’s maximum possible force.

Any object that can be picked by the touch screen can be used for weighing. The app can be side loaded through App’s GitHub page.

The developer Simon Gladman in his statement described the use of the app. He said that by simply putting two items on the screen, you can know which one is heavier.

The heavier among the two devices will be highlighted in yellow. The iPhone 6S can pick up five objects at the same time, so it is possible that through this app you can compare the weight of five objects.

The app is too good to be true. We do not know if this new feature will see the light of the day or not. Let’s wait to see if this app makes its way to the official Apple app store.

Xiaomi and Samsung have also been said to copy the same tech for their next flagship devices.
