  • Ford Motors issues 2 safety and 1 safety compliance recall in North America.

According to Ford so far there have been no accidents, injuries or fires due to the issues.

The Ford recall consists of 2 safety recalls and 1 safety compliance recall. The recall is mainly directed at North America. The model years involved in the recall is 2009 to 2010.

Firstly Ford Motors has issued three recalls due to fuel tank issues. The recall is directed at Ford vehicle models Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX. More than 129,000 Ford vehicles will be recalled.

The Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX vehicle fuel tanks have a potential for corrosion. The corrosion can occur under the reinforcement brackets. The fuel tank in the Ford vehicles is mounted under the reinforcement brackets.

The corrosion hazard is especially high for corrosion states and some provinces in North America. If corrosion around the fuel tank occurs it could lead to a leak resulting in a fire. More than 110,636 are affected by the recall in the US. About 18,187 vehicles will be recalled from Canada.

The second safety recall is for the 2016 Ford E-Series cutaway in North America. The recall has been issued due to potential trailer brake controller problems. 72 of the 2016 Ford E-Series cutaway and chassis cab vehicles will be recalled.

Ford has also issued a safety compliance recall for the 2016 Ford Mustang vehicles. The recall was issued for vehicles in North America. More than 1,900 2016 Ford Mustang vehicles have been recalled.

The recall was issued due to some damage to restraint parts during shipping. Ford will carry out all the recall expenses themselves. The dealers will repair the problems if there are any. No charges will be applied to the owners.
