Sally Fields stars as Doris Miller in the upcoming film ‘Hello, My Name Is Doris’. The trailer for the film was released today. The trailer shows Fields as an older woman who falls for a man decades younger. The young man in question is played by Max Greenfield called John.

The trailer starts with Doris a 60 something woman who meets a young co-worker named John. Doris then falls for John and even ogles him through a window. Doris had been in her shell since her mother died but after meeting John she starts to come out.

Doris even makes a Facebook account to get closer to John. The most prominent moment in the trailer is when Doris goes to a concert in a neon jumpsuit. The film is a departure from tradition, since the older woman falls for the younger man.

Sally Fields recently talked to Yahoo Movies about her role as Doris. Fields described Doris as an eccentric person who is cut off from society. Doris is an old woman who never had a life. So Doris hits her adolescence in a way when her mother dies. But by that time Doris herself is over 60 years old.

The film is not about age but about relationships and how age doesn’t matter on the inside. According to Sally Fields the film will show two people who get very close but are conflicted due to the age gap. Fields also talked about the fluorescent jumpsuit. Fields described Doris as an artistic soul and her clothes are a representation of what pleases her.
