The films 'Good Dinosaur' & 'Creed' placed in the second and third positions at the box office.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 remained on top of the Thanksgiving weekend box office. The final installment in the franchise held off all newcomers from the top position. The newcomers included Pixar's newest release, The Good Dinosaur along with the Rocky Balboa latest edition ‘Creed’. While the film Victor Frankenstein by FOX was one of the worst wide release openings. It seems Katniss Everdeen's efforts have been paying off in the long term.

At the time of its release, Mockingjay-Part 2 had the lowest opening in the franchise. the film has since then dominated the box office. Mockingjay Part-2 has been slowly generating a lot of revenue including the international market.

Mockingjay Part 2 earned an estimated $51.6 million over the Thanksgiving weekend, according to Box Office Mojo. The holiday weekend lasts for the three-days. The film has had only a 49.7% drop.

If the current position is held by Mockingjay-Part 2 then it will make Hunger Games history. As Mockingjay- Part 2 will be the only film in the Hunger Games franchise to drop less than 50%.

The drops are measured in its second weekend. The film is already a massive hit for Lionsgate studios. Mockingjay- Part 2 has already crossed the $440 million worldwide revenue threshold.

The Good Dinosaur by Pixar studios landed on the second place. It had an estimated opening of $39.19 million. The Good Dinosaur managed to earn $28.7 million from 92 territories overseas. While film ‘Creed’ by Ryan Coogler had a business of an estimated $30.1 million. the film also received glowing reviews from critics and the opening day audiences.
