Swatch Partnered With Visa for NFC payments In Bellamy Watch

Swatch, the Swiss Watch manufacturer, last month revealed its Bellamy Watch. The Bellamy is capable of NFC payments.

The Swiss company also announced that the watch will first be available for sale in China.

After China, the countries to start the shipment of the watch are supposed to be the US and Switzerland.

Swatch has already signed an agreement with China's UnionPay for payments in the Asia region. The company has now partnered with Visa.

The new found partnership will allow users to make contactless payments in the US, Switzerland and Brazil.

The company has already declared to the interested users that "pay-by-the-wrist" transactions won’t require their watch’s battery at all.

So, there is no harm to the battery life of the watch due to this feature. Another point, which is important here, is that Bellamy is not a smartwatch.

Though the device can transfer payments, transactions and all; there is no Bluetooth connectivity or internet options.

The new watch cannot connect to your cell phone either! The watch is ready to launch by the start of 2016.

The price for the watch in China is around $90. The availability and price details for other countries around the world are not revealed yet.
