First Apple Black Friday 2015 Deals are on Sale in Walmart November 1 Sale

The Black Friday 2015 sales season has kicked off online. One of the first noteworthy deal is on an Apple iPad mini 2.

Walmart has kicked off the holiday shopping season with a Holiday Rollbacks online sale offering the first Black Friday deals of 2015. The top deal is as announced a $199 iPad min 2.

Is this a great Apple deal? The Walmart offer saves $70 over the regular price of the iPad mini 2. This iPad is still in the official iPad mini line-up that Apple sells in the Apple Store. The iPad mini 2 was released two years ago. Since then Apple has released two more iPad mini tablets with the iPad mini 3 and the new iPad mini 4.

The iPad mini 3 has been replaced by the new iPad mini 4 and is not sold by Apple anymore. Apple only carries the iPad mini 2 and the iPad mini 4. The new iPad mini 4 is $130 more expensive than the iPad mini 2. The Walmart Black Friday iPad mini 2 deal drives up the savings to $200.

Both, the iPad mini 2 and iPad mini 4 have a Retina display. The iPad mini 4 has some additional reflective coating, but basically the same screen. The iPad mini 4's advantages are performance with the faster A8 CPU and better backside camera (8MP). Touch ID and Apple Pay are features the iPad mini 2 lacks.

If you do not need the latest and greatest, the iPad mini 2 is still a very solid performing tablet. The iPad mini 2 is ideal as second screen in the living room or as a Holiday gift for teenagers. At the $199 price, the savings over the iPad mini 4 are 50%.

The only reason to wait with the purchase is the possibility of a better deal on the iPad mini 2 in the actual Walmart Black Friday 2015 sale. Last year Walmart offered the iPad mini for $199 with a $30 gift card as a 1-hour guarantee doorbuster deal.

The Walmart iPad mini 2 deals can be found here. Walmart has only the iPad mini 2 with 16GB and Wi-Fi on sale and is not offer deals on other configurations.

The $199 iPad mini 2 is not the only Apple product featured in the pre Walmart Black Friday 2015 sale. The giant retailer offers several iPod Black Friday deals as well.

The Apple iPod touch 16GB 5th generation (not latest) sells for $159.99. The Apple iPod shuffle 2GB is on sale for $39 and the iPad nano 16GB sells for $134.99. Be advised to pay extra attention which version of the iPods Walmart is offering. The retailer is not upfront with communicating if the offered iPod is the latest version.

Walmart also offers a prepaid iPhone 5S for $299 in today's online early Black Friday sale. For the prepaid iPhone 5C 8GB the Walmart deal today is $269.88. The Prepaid Straight Talk iPhone 6 sells for $549. The Apple EarPods with Remote and Mic MD827LLA are on sale for $18.
