Will the Best Buy November 7 Black Friday Event be Any Good?

Best Buy kicked off the holiday shopping season online on Sunday. Next Saturday the retailer hosts a big in store Holiday sales event with Black Friday-like prices.

The first Holiday Best Buy Holiday sale is under way today November 1. The deals are still far away from Black Friday deals, but Best Buy has announced to offer Black Friday-like deals coming Saturday, November 7.

Best Buy will host a Special Holiday Shopping Events in select stores. All Best Buy stores will though offer Black Friday-like deals on this year’s hottest gifts said Best Buy in October.

Update: Best Buy has now announced the November 7 Black Friday Deals.

On Saturday, November 7 special holiday shopping events will take place in 400 participating Best Buy stores from 1 to 5 p.m. local time. The in-store events will feature robot and virtual reality demos run by Geek Squad Agents.

The first customers arriving will get a free tech gift and the chance to win one of five $1,000 Best Buy gift cards through a Twitter sweepstakes. To enter the sweepstakes you need to tweet a photograph of yourself only with the designated cardboard cut-out located at a participating Best Buy store with #WinTheHolidaysSweepstakes between 1 p.m. ET and 8 p.m. ET on 11/7/15.

The gadgets on display include the Star Wars BB-8 droid by Sphero, Parrot Jumping Sumo MiniDrone, Ollie by Sphero, Sphero SPRK Edition and the Samsung Gear Innovator Edition. Disappointing that Best Buy does not have yet the new 2015 Gear VR device.

Best Buy held a similar early Black Friday event last year. The Black Friday-like deals back then included iPad Air or iPad Air 2 with Free $50 Gift Card, MacBook Air with Free $100 Gift Card and save $100 on Surface Pro 3 128GB. These deals were ok, but also not also not something to waste a Saturday afternoon on.

Best Buy will announce the Black Friday deals for November 7 sometime this week. In the meantime, here are the Best Buy deals on sale today.
