  • EPA drags Porsche and more Audi models into VW diesel emissions scandal!

According to the EPA the diesel engine 3.0-liter used in Porsche vehicles is also falsifying diesel emissions tests.

On Monday, the EPA laid additional charges against Volkswagen. The Environmental Protection Agency claimed VW’s subsidiary Porsche has also been cheating emissions. According to the EPA the 3.0-liter diesel six-cylinder engines is also illegally equipped.

The 3.0-liter engine can be found in Porsche models. Several more models have also been added on the list of vehicles containing the ‘defect devices’. The models include the 2014 VW Touareg and the 2015 Porsche Cayenne.

It also includes the 2016 Audi A6 Quattro, A7 Quattro, A8, A8L and Q5. All these vehicles have been added into the global emissions-cheating scandal, according to LATimes.

The EPA claims the 3.0-liter vehicles have nitrogen oxide emission rate nine times higher than allowed by the agency. EPA stated they have clear evidence VW has further falsified their data. EPA has now found the ‘defect devices’ in the 3.0-liter vehicles through a testing program.

The software was designed by VW to run on two modes. One mode was temperature conditioning and normal mode. The VW vehicles reverted to normal mode in exactly a single second after testing ended. VW has since then blamed a few of their rogue engineers for the software.

The federal authorities continue investigations into VW. The list of vehicles containing ‘defect devices’ could grow. Authorities have revealed they will even test other brands such as BMW and Mercedes as a precaution.
