$998 Vizio D65U-D2 and $498 Vizio D50U-D1 Sam's Club 4K UHD TV Black Friday Deals

Sam's Club advertised Vizio D65U-D2 and Vizio D50U-D1 4K UHD TVs in the November 14 Black Friday sale. Should you get these deals?

The Sam's Club Holiday Savings Celebration sale takes place on Saturday, November 14 in stores and online. The membership warehouse store has already released the Sam's Club Holiday Savings Celebration ad revealing the deals. Sam's Club has said that the advertised deals will not get any better during the Black Friday and Holiday shopping season.

Besides the $299 Sony PS4 Bundle deal, two Vizio 4K UHD TV deals stand out. Sam's Club will offer the 65-inch Vizio D65U-D2 4K UHD Smart TV for $998 and the 50-inch Vizio D50U-D1 4K UHD Smart TV for $498. The warehouse club states that the deals save $300 and $230 respectively.

Vizio has established itself as an respectable brand. This year the also show that the can do ultra-high end with the Vizio Reference Series. These high-end TVs reflect positively on the brand and on the affordable Vizio TV sets.

The Vizio D65U-D2 is new for 2015 and has s regular price of $1,299.99. The Vizio D-series offers a full-array LED display with 8.3 million pixels at a 3,840x2,160px resolution. Local dimming is implemented with 16 active LED zones achieving a dynamic contrast ratio of 20,000,000:1. The effective refresh rate of the panel is 120Hz. The D65U-D2 is powered by the V6 Six-core processor (Quad-core GPU + Dual-core CPU).

Vizio offers 5 HDMI ports on the D65U-D2 as well as USB and Ethernet ports. Wi-fi is not listed in specs, but it should be supported. The built-in speakers have 15W power and DTS StudioSound support.

Vizio D65U-D2 ports

The Vizio D65U-D2 is so new that there are no reviews available yet. Not even the manuals are ready as the links to them on the Vizio site are broken. There is no information if the Vizio D65U-D2 supports HDR. Compared to the M-Series the D-Series has less active LED zones and as the more expensive M-series does not support HDR, we expect that the D-series is as well not supporting HDR.

The $998 Vizio D65U-D2 is the only 65-inch 4K UHD Smart TV I can find that sells for under $1,000. This alone makes this deal a hot buy. The specifications of the D65U-D2 are solid, but behind that of the Vizio M-series. The lack of HDR, makes the D65U-D2 not future proof, but at this price it does not have to be. HDR content is still going to be sparse over the coming two years.

As there are no Vizio D65U-D2 reviews, we cannot tell how good the picture quality is in person. If you don't like it, you always can return it.

The Vizio D50U-D1 is also new for 2015. This 50-inch 4K UHD Smart TV has a regular price of $729.99. The D50U-D1 has 8.3million pixels in a resolution of 3,840x2,160p. The refresh rate is also 120Hz. The full-array LED backlight with 12 active zones delivers 5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ration. Other features include 5 HDMI ports, USB, Ethernet and 10W speakers wihth DTS StudioSound and DTS TruVolume.

The 50-inch Vizio D50U-D1 deal at Sam's Club Holiday Savings Celebration sale is for under $500 an interested offer, but it is not as unique as the D65U-D2 deal. Best Buy is offering right now the Vizio M50-C1 for $698.99. The price of this TV could easily fall to $500 on Black Friday. 50-inch 4K UHD TVs from other brands are also priced in the range of $600 to $800. We expect several Black Friday deals on these TVs still to come. You could wait see. The $998 Vizio D65U-D2 on the other hands appears to be unmatched.

The $998 Vizio D65U-D2 and $498 Vizio D50U-D1 TV deals will be available online and in-stores on Saturday, November 14. Stores open at 7am. We will keep you informed when the deals are available online.
