Amazon Black Friday: Lytro Illum 40 Camera Drops 69% to $399.99

The ongoing early Amazon Black Friday 2015 sale features today a deal for camera enthusiasts.

The early Amazon Black Friday 2015 sale has the first big camera deal. Amazon slashed the price of the Lytro Illum 40 Megaray Light Field Camera to $399.99. This is 69% off the MSRP of $1,299.

The Lytro Illum 40 Megaray camera has been released in 2014. Back then the camera created a lot of buzz. The company has been talked about since 2011 for developing new breakthrough camera technology.

The photos taken with the Lytro can be refocused later. This means users can take DSLR style photos with something focused in the front or back, but do not have to decide that when they make the photo.

At $1,299 the refocus capability is a tad expensive, but at $399.99 it is a total different story.

A single exposure from Lytro Illum also lets photographers adjust apertures, tilt, focus spread, animation and even 3D to create new versions. The Lytro comes with a desktop software for editing photos. The Lytro Desktop application lets users adjust a wide range of photographic parameters, including the scene’s depth of field, and transform those pictures into immersive cinematic animations.

Other features of the Lytro Illum 40 include 8x optical zoom, constan 2.0 aperture, 80-3200 ISO range, 4-inch screen, Wi-fi, Snapdragon 800 CPU, SDXC/SDHC memory card support.

The $399.99 Lytro Illum 40 camera deal is available all day today on The deal is sold by Woot and fullfilled by Amazon. It is elligible for Prime shipment.
