Hyundai to Launch New Global Luxury Brand Genesis in December

The new high end sub brand by Hyundai will be launched in December 2015.

Hyundai has announced it will be launching a new sub brand. The new high end brand will be called Genesis. The new sub-brand will allow Hyundai to go global. Rumors of the new sub-brand by Hyundai had been making the rounds for years. On Tuesday Hyundai made an official announcement. The new brand Genesis by Hyundai will be launched by December 2015.

According to Hyundai the new brand Genesis will elevate and differentiate from the mother brand. Genesis will have a distinct design identity, emblem and naming structure. Hyundai shared even the customer service offering is being differently established in the statement.

A Korean report has also claimed Genesis will launch a new version of Equus. The new Equus line will be launched next month and will be called the G90. The sedans by Genesis will be called the G80 line. Mid-size models by Genesis will be called the G70.

A total of six models will be featured by Genesis and all of them will be available by 2020. The mid-size sedan from the G70 will be available earlier by 2017.

Hyundai is also creating the Prestige Design Division. The division will be responsible for helping Genesis make its own identity. The division will be headed by Luc Donckerwolke, who designed several VW brands.

Genesis will first be launched in North America, China, Korea, and the Middle East. Then it will expand to other continents such as Europe and Asia. Woong-Chul Yang is the vice chairman of Hyundai Motor. According to Yang Genesis will have technological innovation, excellent driving and luxury all in one.
