Apple Is Looking For A Second Supplier For Apple Watch

Apple Watch 2 will be announced next year.

Apple worked with Quanta Computers for the production of Apple Watch. A new report, now, claims that Apple is seeking another manufacturer other than Quanta.

The report came through the courtesy of a Chinese-language Apple Daily report. The report claims that the famous company is currently busy in discussions with Inventec, Wistron, and its primary partner Foxconn.

Apple Daily mentioned that the Watch is yet not ready for release. The anticipated unveiling is expected in the second quarter of 2016.

This news contradicts the other recent rumors. The companies which are purportedly approached for the production are concerned about the weak profits.

Quanta has invested heavily on the equipments for Apple Watch but the profit return from the device has been weaker than expected.

The report also states that, initially, Apple had ordered four million Watches for the December quarter.

But, due to much less sales during that quarter, the demand dropped down to 4 million. Apple has not issued any official testament, but it is rumored that the sales will reach 10 million by the end of 2015.

As far as Apple Watch 2 is concerned, we do not much about it. All we grabbed from some rumors is that the Watch will have a better battery capacity and improved display.

The watch is also speculated to support Pebble-style "smart" bands.
