Tennant will play Kilgrave in the upcoming series Jessica Jones releasing today on Netflix.

The series Jessica Jones was just released today on Netflix. David Tennant plays the villain in the series about a female superhero. Speaking with Vanity Fair, Tennant revealed his desire to be featured in a Marvel Comics Universe film.

Tennant shared he would love for his character Kilgrave to be featured in an Avengers film. According to Tennant there is an acceptance Jessica Jones is in the same world as the Avengers and Spider-Man.

Tennant further shared he would be very happy to be in an Avengers movie. Tennant also commented even though it is his desire the possibility of Kilgrave in an Avengers film is narrow.

The style and tone of the Marvel’s Netflix universe may not be appreciated in the big screen territory. Marvel seems to be heading more into the darker territory with their upcoming film and series projects. So it’s entirely plausible Kilgrave could be factored into an Avengers movie.

The series Jessica Jones is loosely based on the comic book Alias. The series follows Jones played by Krysten Ritter a former superhero. Jones is recovering from trauma, and hiding in the slums of Hell’s Kitchen. When all of a sudden Kilgrave comes back to torment Jessica Jones. The 13 episode series is basically a metaphor for surviving sexual assault.

About his character Tennant shared Kilgrave has powers of total control over others. Kilgrave does not have big agendas such as world domination or destruction. Kilgrave is only interested in wish fulfilment. Such qualities make Kilgrave appealing yet terrifying to people at the same time.
