Sony PS4 Sales Reach 30.2 Million, Expected To Increase More

Sony has sold 30 Million Ps4 systems so far, watch out Microsoft!

It has been 2 years since the Sony PlayStation 4 was launched. Thus far, Sony’s PS4 has got its fair share of fame and popularity.

It has sold more than 30.2 million units globally, since its launch according to Sony. It was reported in January that about 18.5 million were sold in this span.

The January report also unveiled that about 4.1million sales were reported in the 2014 Christmas season.

This time again it is expected that the sales figures will go up dramatically, due to the $50 PS4 discount by Sony in the month of December.

Sony CEO Andrew House said in his statement thanked all the gamers around the world for choosing PS4 as the best for two years.

The big competitors; Microsoft and Nintendo have yet not announced their sales figures. But, VGChartz, report shows that Sony is the clear winner.

The site showed the PS4 sales at 28.4 million. It also estimated that Redmond's Xbox One sales figure is £259.89 and Amazon has sold 15.6 million units while the Wii U approximately sold 10.9 million to date.

Sony also claims that PS4 is the strongest and fastest growth in PlayStation hardware history.

Sony has also planned to release new games. Some of them are Gravity Rush Remastered, Dragon Quest Builders, Ryu Ga GotokuKIWAMI, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Bloodborne The Old Hunters Edition.

It is also expected that indie games GALAK-Z and Super Time Force Ultra will be introduced too.

Sony has recently confirmed that it will allow gamers to play classic PC games on its next-gen console.

But, the details and any other information is not announced yet.
