Amazon Cyber Monday Hit by Critical Fire Delivery Delays

Amazon gets hammered by their own success, limiting the appeal of cyber deals for Kindle and Fire products.

Amazon's own products turned out to be a huge hit during Black Friday. This leads now to problems for the Amazon Cyber Monday sale. Black Friday shoppers have depleted Amazon's stock of Fire tablets and Fire Stick. The items are still on sale, but Amazon states in stock dates of as late as December 21, cutting it really close for a Christmas delivery.

We expected that the Amazon Fire tablet priced at $34.99 would be in high demand and recommended to buy right at the release of the deal on Thanksgiving Day. Ordering a Fire tablet on Cyber Monday means that it will be in stock at the earliest on December 19.

Update 11/29 2pm PT: $34.99 Fire Tablet deal is gone. Fire has sold out and new orders miss Christmas. Amazon reverted the price back to $49.99.

Update 11/29: Fire slips to in stock on December 23. Depending on shipment options the Fire will not arrive in time for Christmas when ordered now.

Yesterday the in stock date was still December 16. The tablet is still selling at rapid pace and come Cyber Monday, Nov. 30 it might be sold out for Christmas delivery.

Another Fire tablet is in even worse shape. The Fire Kids tablet will be back in stock on December 21. If anything goes wrong, the Kids tablet will not make it under the Christmas tree in time.

The Fire TV Stick priced at $24.99 is also in high demand and will be back in stock on December 16. The $149 Echo is only delayed slightly and will be back in stock on Tuesday.

The Kindle is unaffected by Black Friday sales and has no shipping delays associated with them. Amazon has put the Fire HD 6 on sale for $69.99, from $99.99. This move is likely an attempt to give customers an alternative to the Fire tablet deal. The Fire HD 6 is faster and has a better screen than the bargain Fire tablet.

All these dates might still shift further, even before the Amazon Cyber Monday 2015 sale begins on Sunday.

Walmart and Amazon kicked off on Saturday the Cyber Week 2015 sales events, offering the first cyber deals of the year. The full Cyber Monday 2015 sales will already launch on Sunday, with Walmart specifically calling out 8pm ET as start time. ToysRUs Cyber Monday 2015 sale already kicks off at 8am ET.
