Apple has not officially confirmed this, but there are news from certain sources in China that the company is testing a number of configurations for its iPhone 7 model which is due to launch next year, and this is largely because the Cupertino company is set to outdo its iPhone 6 models with newer models by 2016.

Although the S-models have great features that make it a better choice for many tech-savvy users, the upcoming iPhone 7 scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2016 might pack more features than any existing models.

To this extent, it will feature a new design, new or upgraded OS version, and other technological capabilities. These might make the iPhone 7 Apple’s flagship smartphone for the next couple of years after launch, and this is why Apple is ostensibly experimenting with newer technologies that would go into the upcoming model.

There are unconfirmed rumors that a USB Type-C connector compatible with headsets, wireless charging technology, multi-Force Touch, dual camera configurations, and fingerprint recognition technology embedded within the display might go into the new phone. And there are talks that Apple is also poking AMOLED display technology for the upcoming iPhone 7 – why a smartphone with AMOLED screen should be launched before 2018 is also another question to consider.
