Tag Heuer Smartwatch In High Demand with Diamond encrusted Connected Coming next Holidays

Tag Heuer Connected smartwatch is in high demand.

Tag Heuer increases the weekly production for the Tag Heuer Connected smartwatch due to higher than expected demand. The Swiss watch maker unveiled the Tag Heuer Android Wear watch on November 9. The $1,500 smartwatch has started to sell in stores at the same time.

Initial weekly production was 1,200 units. According to Corinne Gretler on Bloomberg, Tag Heuer has increased the weekly production to 2,000 to meet the demand of 100,000 orders from Tag Heuer retailers. The stores will be supplied first with new smartwatches, while online sales are halted at least until May, 2016.

Tag Heuer CEO Jean-Claude Biver said in an email to Gretler, that considering the success of the first Tag Heuer Connected, the company plans now to create a collection of different executions and materials at the end of next year or beginning of 2017. The material used will include diamonds and gold. Tag Heuer will blow past the already high price point of $1,500 with these new luxury Connected watches.

Tag Heuer found its key differentiator in the smartwatch market. Customers can replace the Connected Watch with a mechanical version after 2 years for $1,500.
