Time Magazine released the shortlist of candidates for the 2015 Person of the Year.

Time magazine's editors will unveil the 2015 Person of the Year on Wednesday, Dec. 9. Today Time Magazine released a shortlist of the candidates for the 2015 Person of the Year cover.

Update: Angela Merkel is Person of the Year 2015.

The list is comprised of eight names including ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, Black Lives Matter activists, Caitlyn Jenner, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, German chancellor Angela Merkel, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Donald Trump.

The 2015 Time Magazine Person of the year can be a villain, or even Donald Trump. Trump is having the best cards, if the American public would be asked. NBC is hosting a poll right now and Donald Trump is in the lead with over 45%, followed in far distance by Black Lives Matter activists and Angela Merkel.

The Person of the year has been already chosen behind closed doors at Times Magazine. The poll will have no impact.

The Person of the Year 2015 will be announced in the Today Show on NBC, Wednesday morning.

Ebola Fighters have been TIME's choice for Person of the Year 2014. In 2013 it was Pope Francis.
