There are a ton of music streaming services out there, so they all have to work to stand out from each other. For the longest time, Apple had an advantage because they had a family plan that a ton of people really liked.

That's ending.

Today, Google announced that they are offering a Play Music Family Plan that will cost $14.99 and be able to handle six Google accounts. Users will have access to 35 million audio tracks, played ad free, to all subscribers. According to the Official Android Blog, they will have to use the Play Music website or the Android or iOS apps. Google has said that they will also keep playlists separate so that there isn't confusion.

Another bonus to subscribing to the Google Play Music Family Plan is that they are able to have access to YouTube Red as well - which means that they have access to ad-free music videos. According to the release, they will also have access to the music that they deem appropriate and the music videos they want offline, though this will take up some room on phones and other mobile devices.

The new Play Music Family Plan is available today in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, France and Germany, with more countries "coming soon" says Google.

Spotify, the leading streaming music service for the last few years, does charge more for its family plan, but has said that they will eventually match the price being offered by both Apple and Google.
