The Star Wars: Episode VII has premiered in LA last night. About 3,000 Hollywood celebrities and other lucky people have seen the movie last night at the world premiere of The Force Awakens.

The full Star Wars: The Force Awakens reviews will not be out until December 16, because of a review embargo. Social media is though lighting up right now with the first verdicts from the guests of the premiere.

Comedian Patton Oswalt boils the verdict down to "JJ did it." on Twitter. He added: "Only thing I didn't like in Star Wars: The Force Awakens was Abba's "Super Trooper" on the soundtrack whenever there were stormtroopers." Funny guy.

Canadian actor Calum Worthy verdict is " That was incredible." Film director Brett Morgan's first reaction: "Force Awakens might be the best blockbuster since the original."

Film writer Rebecca Keegan says on Twitter: "Among its many wonderful qualities, STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS passes the Bechdel test. Story, characters, design, humor -- #StarWars fans, this is the movie you're looking for."

The Bechdel test Keegan refers to is a test about how women are portrayed in a movie. The simple test asks whether a work of fiction features at least two women who talk to each other about something other than a man.

Slashfilm's Peter Sciretta tweets: "Awesome. The Force has indeed awakened. I can't wait for what comes next."

Stand-up comedian Chris Hardwick reacts on Twitter after watching the premiere with "No spoilers but #TheForceAwakens is beyond amazing. Truly. It was an emotional experience that exceeded my hopes!"

Film Director Andrew Stanton shared on Twitter a very compact review from an expert: "How was Star Wars? Great. Nothing more to say. Just go. #spoilerfree."

Actress Geena Davis said to Variety right after the movie ended, "I loved everything about it."

Overall the initial verdict is overwhelmingly positive. The stage is set for Star Wars: The Force Awakens to break the record of the biggest opening weekend of a movie ever.
