President Obama says Star Wars screening at White House is 'Most Important Thing'. POTUS and the President’s family host Gold Star families at the White House for a special screening of Star Wars.
President Obama invites the Gold Star families to his own home, the best venue in the whole land, the White House for a special screening of the biggest movie of the year; Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
POTUS arranged for the end of the year’s presidential speech to be limited. The President kept his briefing about the year’s events to a brief 50 minutes, Variety reported.
The speech included the highlights of the year including climate change, foreign policies and terrorism. In a statement, the President informed what was happening on the White House vicinity when his speech was kept shorter than usual by saying that it was not the most important event that was taking place in the White House.
There is a screening of Star Wars for Gold Star families and children coming up. So he would try to be relatively succinct. The end of the speech was the greatest perhaps when President Obama said that he had to get to Star Wars.
He was followed by White House press secretary Josh Earnest appeared in the briefing room alongside “Star Wars” stormtroopers and R2-D2. He said that the event and the mascots were pretty cool.

The President and the First Lady are hosting the Gold Star families in the family theatre as a part of the First Lady’s Joining Forces initiative to support military families.
This was not the first time President Obama will be hosting at his house. In the past, they have hosted screenings of movies such as “Lincoln” and “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.”

No one has confirmed that Michelle Obama will be watching the movie. She will be joining the President to travel to San Bernardino, Calif., to meet with victims of the terrorist attack. The President will then travel to Honolulu for their Christmas vacation.
