Harrison Ford Earned 50 Times More Than Star Wars Co-Stars

Harrison Ford got payed in the eight figures sum for reprising the role of Han Solo in the latest instalment of Star Wars.

Thinking about the casting in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens, there was nothing more exciting than knowing that the original cast members from the first Star Wars movie, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fischer, would be involved.

Let’s not forget that the actors, in addition to being Star Wars alums, had careers after the first trilogy. Harrison Ford’s career went ahead to become one of the legends in Hollywood.

With Indiana Jones and many award winning movies, Ford is a brand of his own. So when there was a discussion about what had to be paid to him for his reprisal in the latest movie, let’s just say the eight figures sum might sound like a reasonable offer.

Although a Disney insider tells the rumor to Variety that Ford got overpaid compared to his co-stars, other sources expunge that he got paid up to $25 million for the movie.

His co-stars from the original trilogy, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fischer were offered to be paid in the seven figures which is hoped to go up as they will be appearing in the sequels and their characters will grow stronger. Han Solo’s character did see the end in The Force Awakens hence it is understandable why he might have gotten paid so much.

Still the figures are way up than even Oscar Issac and Adam Driver who have earned good seven figured sums. That might be contributed to their extensive portfolios of work in movies and TV.

Issac's Inside Llweyn Davis and A Violent Year were award winning movies. Adam Driver also played award winning role in HBO’s Girls and award winning movie roles. They were both able to negotiate better salaries than the first timers Daisy Ridley and John Boyega. Both of whom got paid in the lower six figures.

It is an ongoing trend nowadays in Hollywood especially with franchises where the actors get paid less in the first movie and they negotiate better deals in the sequels where they reprise their roles.
