This is its sixth year since inception and the DASH Diet remains at the #1 spot in its category of healthy diets. It is based on vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy products, a very salubrious combination that feeds both the body and mind in an optimal manner.

The very word “diet” contains the word “die”. It is something that everyone avoids like the plague although at some stage of life it becomes a necessity.

Usually people go on and off diets due to lack of self control and a deficiency in will power. This sort of yoyo dieting is inimical to health and well-being.

To provide the best means of losing weight and optimizing the body’s systems would be an ideal thing. Well, the wait is over since the best diet of 2016 has declared. And this DASH Diet works too.

The DASH Diet was originally meant to lower blood pressure. But it is much more than that in reality. It lends itself towards the setting up of lifestyle changes and improves the health of its practitioners beyond the normal levels.

It was a tie with the TLC or Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes Diet. The MIND diet was also very good for the brain. As for the Mediterranean Diet, the Mayo Diet and Weight Watchers, they ranked high in the list of the best diets of 2016. They were at a tie with the Fertility Diet for the #4 position.

The Fertility Diet was the best for diabetes sufferers. It allowed for ample amounts of nuts and vegetables. The elimination of trans fats and the introduction of vegetables into the diet made this eating regimen excellent for women who wanted to conceive a child.

As for the Whole30 Diet, it was way down there at the bottom along with the Raw Food Diet and the Paleo or Caveman Diet. The Whole30 Diet eliminated sugars and grains.

The real thing that a dieter has to take into account is whether the particular diet he or she is following is feasible or not. Whether it satisfies one’s palate is the biggest criterion of stick-ability. If you cannot stick to it, what is the use of even trying it!
