Michelin engineers have improved the compound technology in the tyre enhancing its snow traction.

At the NAIAS 2016 Michelin introduced the latest innovation in its Pilot Family of performance tires. The Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season 3+ tyre was finally unveiled.

Two years ago critics invited to NOLA Motorsports Park were amazed with the tyre’s performance. Michelin engineers have further enhanced the tire’s compound technology. The enhancement has improved the tyre’s snow traction. While retaining the tyre’s already incredible wet and dry traction.

Scott Clark is the chief operating officer, Michelin North America. According to Clark, All-season tires are known for being effective for three seasons. The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3+ is the best choice for high performance all-season tires.

The tyre combines breakthrough levels of dry and wet grip while providing great snow traction. The Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ provides true all-season performance.

"All-season tires are known for being effective for three seasons, and in regions with light-to-moderate winter weather,” said Scott Clark, chief operating officer, Michelin North America.

“For those considering high performance all-season tires, the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3+ is the best choice as it combines breakthrough levels of dry and wet grip while providing great snow traction for true all-season performance."

Additionally the new tyre has unique biting edges in the tread grooves that grab loose snow to help acceleration. It also helps with braking in winter conditions. The tyre also has a Variable Contact Patch 3.0.  The patch was originally developed for endurance racing.

The patch distributes the forces and temperatures more evenly. The tyre contains extreme amounts of silica in the tread compound. It also has variable thickness sipes and large circumferential grooves, resulting in an incredible wet grip.

“With the MICHELIN Pilot Family of ultra-high performance tires, we continuously merge the lessons derived from our global motorsports victories with our uncompromising standards for quality and safety,” added Clark.

“Installing a set of tires from the MICHELIN Pilot Family is a simple way for driving enthusiasts to improve their vehicle’s performance.”
