Chris Rock Calls Oscars the White BET Awards

The Oscars are again criticized to only hand out awards to white Hollywood. Chris Rock boils it down on Twitter for everybody to understand.

Chris Rock is the biggest reason to watch the Oscars 2016. The comedian will host the Academy Awards show for the second time. He hosted the Oscars way back in 2005 the first time.

Awards shows these days only are worthwhile watching if the host is funny. Ricky Gervais is the go to guy for the Golden Globes and he killed it. His jokes became memes on the web that got circulated all week after the show. Gervais just fired one insulting joke after the other at the Hollywood A-list.

The Academy Awards bet on Chris Rock to do the same. Well almost. I don't think Chris Rock can be as aggressive as Gervais at the Oscars. But maybe he does not care, which would be awesome.

A couple hours ago Chris Rock sent out a Tweet that already has the internet buzzing. "The #Oscars. The White BET Awards." This is hilarious and stings right into the annual discussion about most nominees being white.

The Oscars 2016 will air live on Sunday, Feb. 28 7pm ET on ABC. See also the complete list of the 2016 Oscar Nominations. The Revenant got the most nominations with 12, including Best Picture and best actor in leading role. Mad Max: Fury Road got 10 nominations. Star Wars got 5 Oscar noms, but only in second tier awards.
