Controversy has been on the rise ever since the Oscars nominations were announced on January 14th. Jada Pinkett Smith has raised a campaign to boycott Oscars for nominating “white people” only and having no diversity in the nominees.

Spike Lee who was awarded an honorary Oscar at the Governors Awards in November, said in his speech that he appreciated the recontion but he and his wife "cannot support" this year's Academy Awards.

Al Sharpton, Straight Outta Compton executive producer Will Packer and Chris Rock, who is set to host the Feb. 28, were all quick to call out the lack of diversity after Thursday's announcements.

Jada Pinkett Smith has however launched a full movement against this year’s Oscars because of all-white nominations. Her husband, Will Smith, was not nominated for his role in Concussion.

While Hollywood is still considering Pinkett Smith’s movement, another actress was very clear about what side she was on. The former actress, Janet Hubert who played Aunt Viv on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air alongside Will Smith. Hubert was kicked off the show after third season which was the cause of surprise for many audience.

In her Facebook status and an accompanying video that Hubert released on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, she called out to Jada Pinkett Smith for always talking for her husband.

She said that Will didn’t have a tongue of his own to speak for himself. She then said in her Facebook status that this was Will’s best work to date because that was the best he has done till now.

That doesn’t mean that his performance was not excellent as his accent was all over the place and they cut down his female counterpart so she wouldn't outshine him.

She said that Will and Jada had a production house of their own but they only produced their friends and family. So in truth they were a part of the predatory culture that they were protesting now.

She remembered the time when she had gone to Will Smith to ask for equal cast pays and he had refused. Hubert says that all the Smiths worried about was their work and their earnings and their credits.
