To help aspiring and established songwriters and beatmakers record their ideas when inspiration strikes, Apple has released a set of new music apps for its iOS so that people can easily create great music regardless of what they have or where they are.

With Apple’s new Music Memos app, songwriters and musicians can capture, organize, and develop their music ideas from within their iPhones with ease, and they can also use their iPad and iPhone to create and mix music beats like a professional DJ using the Live Loops feature within the updated GarageBand app for iOS devices.

“Musicians around the world, from the biggest artists to aspiring students, use Apple devices to create amazing music; the innovative new Music Memos app will help them quickly capture their ideas on iPhone and iPad whenever inspiration strikes,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

“GarageBand is the most popular music creation app in the world, and this update helps everyone easily tap into their musical talent with the powerful new Live Loops and Drummer features, and adds support for the larger iPad Pro screen and 3D Touch on iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus,” Schiller added.

Several top songwriters and music producers have revealed their reliance on Voice Memos and Notes to capture songs as they occur in their minds before they lose them – great music often occur as flashes of inspirations and unless they are captured immediately into an excellent app, they get lost forever. And this is where Apple’s new music apps come in.

“It quite literally blew my mind how Music Memos could transform a single guitar idea into a whole composition with a virtual drummer loose enough that it felt like you were having your mind read by some AI musician and a choice of stand-up or electric bass accompaniments,” said Ryan Adams, popular singer, producer, and songwriter.

“I recorded my first album using GarageBand and I continue to use it in my music today,” said T-Pain, Grammy Award-winning artist and producer. “I love how the new Live Loops in GarageBand lets me quickly build tracks and beats, and even perform effects like a musical instrument. It’ll change the way an entire generation makes music.”

GarageBand is fast becoming the most-loved mobile music creation app worldwide for iOS devices, and with the latest 2.1 version which incorporates Live Loops, music makers have a lot more music tools at their disposal. Whether you are interested in making Rock, Hip Hop, Dubstep, or EDM music, Live Loops has you covered, even more with its new Drummer feature.

Music Memos is available for free on the App Store and is compatible with iPhone 4s and later, and iPad 2 and later. GarageBand 2.1 for iOS is bundled free with new iOS devices 32GB and larger, is available as a free upgrade for existing users with compatible iOS 9 devices or later, and is available to everyone else for $4.99 via the App Store.
