Future iPhones may have a curved screen!

Apple’s recent patent application has something which will reveal the company’s new plan about iPhone. The patent shows that Apple is bored with LCD screens and is planning to dump them soon. Yes, you have heard it right; Apple is expected to ditch the mainstream screen for a flexible OLED display.

Apple decided to execute the idea by 2018. There is a chance that the idea may go no where. There are plenty of Apple patents which never get to see the light of day.

The patent by the Apple we are talking about seems that it will become reality. It was submitted in September, 2015 but just got approved this week. The patent shows that Apple wants to manufacture an “electronic device with a wrapped display.” This is something Apple was planning to experiment with for quite some time.

The patent also demonstrated different functions of the device with wrapped displays. This usage expands from flat-screened devices to minor curved ones. It also includes some very bizarre concepts like cylindrical displays. I am sure no one would ever want that. Apple’s new flexible OLED screens are expected to be among us by 2018.

However, we might have a question like what really is the purpose behind switching to such shaped screens?
