Miley starts her new year with returning to acting as she is cast in Woody Allen’s new Amazon series.

Miley Cyrus is off to a good start. She announced her new album last year and her relationship with Liam Hemsworth is back on track as they have gotten engaged once again.

It is not like Miley stopped acting altogether to pursue her music. She was the star of the Disney show Hannah Montana about a teen singer leading a double life.

Miley also starred in Nicholas Sparks’ The Last Song and LOL before leaving mainstream acting for her music and she succeeded with a platinum selling album.

Miley has made small appearances in Two and a Half Men and lately in A Very Murray Christmas. Lately there was no news of any new projects from Miley when she updated her Instagram with a photo of a painting resembling the 80-year-old famed director.

Alongside the photo is the caption in which Miley wrote that as this year started, she was actually planning to chill out. She had planned to lie in her bed and relax.

While she has been lying around she could see in the eyes of this Woody Allen photo on her bedside. She was looking in his eyes once more when she got the call from the director himself.

He has offered her the chance to play a part in his upcoming Amazon series. Miley accepted the offer and she is now a part of the untitled Amazon series.

According to Miley, she will be working alongside Elaine May and Woody Allen himself. One giveaway in Miley’s caption about the show was that the show would be set in the 1960s.

Other than that the Amazon sources have not given any updates about the series but it will be a six episode series with half hour episodes. Amazon is stepping into the entertainment industry.

With the Golden Globe wins of Mozart in the Jungle, it has gotten the boost it needed to step into the movie and series world.
