The Zika Virus has led to an emergency situation and this is being implemented for the sake of public health safety purposes.

WHO has declared an emergency situation due to the Zika Virus pandemic. The health issues being generated by this nasty disease cause everything from microcephaly to further complications that are messy.

The mosquito-borne illness is spreading in a haphazard manner and bringing chaos wherever it penetrates. The abnormality of babies born with small heads is a worrisome aspect of the malady. Termed microcephaly, it is common in Brazil and French Polynesia.

Also another malady, Guillame-Barre Syndrome, is to be found in regions where Zika Virus has struck. It causes serious paralysis that is debilitating. This syndrome is found in El Salvador, Brazil and French Polynesia.

WHO is closely monitoring the situation at hand. Any connection the condition has with the virus has not been explored up until now. Even the link between Zika Virus and microcephaly in infants born to pregnant women has not been conclusively proven.

The disease affects a large region and there are no vaccine facilities or medical amenities available. This complicates matters even further.

Zika Virus is a strange illness. The widespread contagion of this sickness has caused an emergency situation to be enforced in the loci where it has penetrated. In fact, it is now a matter of international worry and apprehension.

The trends for the malady are being followed very closely and carefully. Cases of microcephaly and other concomitant ailments are being studied on an intensive basis on order to combat this disease.

Zika in itself is not that lethal or problematic. It is the issues surrounding it that are cause for anxiety and angst.

The explosive spread of the infection has caused 3 million to 4 million cases every year. This is alarming indeed. Over 28 countries have been caught up in the net cast by the virus.

Brazil which is hosting the 2016 Olympic Games will have to clean up its act if it wants the sports lovers from the world to come and see the action. With Zika Virus being a constant concern, people will be avoiding any trips to Brazil.

Especially those women who are pregnant are doubly careful lest their newborn infants end up with a developmental issue such as microcepaly.
