  • Climate Change is not a Natural Process in the Long Run

Scientists have found that climate change is not a natural process in the long run. Thus the earth maintains its homeostasis and only man’s interventionist policies force the earth to heat up beyond a certain limit.

Global warming is an unnatural happening. It is not something written in the stars but entirely due to the polluting policies of mankind. Scientists studied how the earth cools down after a period of warming.

This lent them valuable clues as to the homeostatic functions of our lonely planet. Global temperatures never fluctuate from hot to cold and back on their own initiative.

Rather it is the massive amount of greenhouse gases that flood the atmosphere that create this SNAFU. Man and his garbage lead to the earth’s overcompensating behavior.

If the outer influence would be reduced to preindustrial levels, the phenomenon known as global warming would be reduced to nil. But of course now that we have come so far, we cannot go back.

Those who are cynical concerning global warming have said that the earth undergoes its own cycles of overheating and over cooling time after time.

But a new study proves them wrong. External agents are responsible for the greenhouse effect and man’s vile ways of spreading toxicity is the chief contributing factor among many.

"This underscores that large, sustained changes in global temperature like those observed over the last century require drivers such as increased greenhouse gas concentrations," said lead author Patrick Brown, a PhD student at Duke's Nicholas School of the Environment.

"Natural climate cycles alone are insufficient to explain such changes," he said.

Brown and his colleagues published their peer-reviewed research Feb. 1 in the Journal of Climate.

The huge difference of one degree Celsius that has occurred since the past century would not have been possible without greenhouse emissions. Nature knows best and it would not dare harm itself or its creation. It is we who wreak havoc by our plans for progress.

Maybe all this progress is just an illusion. The research was published in a journal. The earth in fact tries to maintain its temperature via a feedback loop and by distributing the heat among the water, clouds and snow on its surface.

But it is becoming a hard task to accomplish since man refuses to give up his prodding behavior. The stabilization had been termed the Planck Response.

This consists of infrared energy that the earth exudes upon warming beyond a certain point. It is an outlet of sorts for planetary health. The extra heat is released into outer space through the atmosphere.

However, the latest research shows that there is more than meets the eye here. This process is overtaken on a local level by heat-fixating feedback loops. Thus it appears to be the case that other mechanisms are at work here too.

Energy is released into cooler areas. And so the planet is veering in a dangerous direction. There is still time to turn back and consolidate our survival tactics by making them leaner, cleaner and greener.
