Ryan Reynolds and Fox are anticipating a big opening for the Marvel character Deadpool over the four day long President’s Weekend.

They fought hard and they finally got the film in theatres. Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick (writer and executive producers), Tim Miller (director) and Ryan Reynolds (actor) fought a long hard battle with the studios to get the movie made and released.

Fox has acquired the rights for the movie to showcase it across 3,540 theatres across the U.S. over this President’s weekend.

The movie is based on the Marvel’s character Deadpool who’s a part of the X-Men franchise. The result of an experiment, Deadpool is a loose mouthed, eccentric assassin.

It is an R-rated action thriller featuring Ryan Reynolds who has already already played the role once before in the x-Men Origins: Wolverine. The actor has been hoping for a commercial hit after his few commercial movies remained unsuccessful including “R.I.P.D.” and “Green Lantern”.

He has been hoping to make his way back into the American hearts with this red and black suited bad-ass hero who isn’t afraid to use four lettered words excessively.

The movie’s teaser received a lot of attention in the last year’s Comic Con. Ever since then, people have been waiting for the movie. Movie goers have been booking the tickets already.

Fundango (via Variety) has already reported major sales for Deadpool tickets. The male population and Marvel are anticipating some great Marvel badass fun.

It is perhaps the right time to release the movie following Mavel’s Jessica Jones, a dark R-rated superhero series as well which has opened the minds of the audience to accept the eccentricity of Deadpool.

The studios is anticipating major earnings across the country between $60 to 65 million. The creative unit is expecting the weekend to gross over $70 million.

That might be the reason that the creative unit has pushed for a sequel. Fox has green lighted the project and Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have already started working on the script for the next movie.
