2017 Nissan TITAN Pickup Details Released at Chicago Auto Show!
Nissan TITAN will be available in 4x2 or 4x4 drive configurations with three cabin configurations – Crew Cab, King Cab and Single cab – and three bed lengths – 5.5, 6.5 and 8 feet. Similar to TITAN XD, TITAN will be available in five trim levels – S, SV, PRO-4X, SL and Platinum Reserve. The TITAN will be powered by Nissan’s 5.6-liter Endurance® V8 gasoline engine capable of 390 horsepower and 401 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine will be mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission.

The half-ton version of the TITAN had a special photography release which made it the center of attention.

The 2017 TITAN was the offering by Nissan at the Chicago Auto Show. The standard half-ton version of the TITAN had a special photography release. At the event the details of the standard TITAN were finally revealed.

Rich Miller is a Chief Product Specialist for TITAN. According to Miller, the TITAN will compete in the heart of the full-size pickup segment. While the TITAN XD will bridge the gap between traditional half-ton and full heavy-duty pickups.

So the TITAN and TITAN XD will own about 85 percent of the total full-size truck market. Both TITAN XD and the standard TITAN have a rugged exterior style.

"There's a strong family resemblance between TITAN XD and the standard TITAN, with their shared rugged exterior style," said Rich Miller.

"TITAN will compete in the heart of the full-size pickup segment – the half-ton – while the TITAN XD provides a unique solution for customers by bridging the cost and capability gap between traditional half-ton and full heavy-duty pickups. Together TITAN and TITAN XD will cover nearly 85 percent of the total full-size truck market."

The standard TITAN will be available in 4x2 or 4x4 drive configurations. Additionally the TITAN will come in three different cabin configurations. The configurations are the Crew Cab, King Cab and Single cab.

Similarly the TITAN will have three bed lengths the 5.5, 6.5 and 8 feet. The TITAN will also be available in five trim levels, the S, SV, PRO-4X, SL and Platinum Reserve. The trim levels are the same as the TITAN XD.

"The TITAN and TITAN XD do not share any common chassis components," added Miller. "Even the lug nuts are different."

The TITAN is equipped with Nissan’s 5.6-liter Endurance V8 gasoline engine. The engine is capable of 390 horsepower and 401 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine will be mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. A V6 version of the engine will also be offered. The TITAN will go on sale in summer 2016.
