Panasonic has just announced the LUMIX GF8 camera. It is a different version of the GF7. The new camera is different from its predecessor due to more emphasis on self portraits.

The LUMIX GF8 comes with a 16 megapixel CMOS sensor with Micro Four Thirds lens mount. The sensor of the camera is capable of ISO 25600 sensitivity with contrast AF system. The AF system is capable of both face and eye detection. The LUMIX GF8 can record up to 1080p60 videos.

The camera also has Wi-Fi which enables wireless image transfers. As for the screen and display, the GF8 comes with a flipping touchscreen and a 1.04M dot display. If you flip the display, the camera will be shifted to a self portrait mode. The camera is also capable of adding different effects to the images. The several effects includes, changing skin texture, face slimming, teeth whitening, etc.

These effects were only a part of Smartphone camera apps, but now it seems that digital cams don’t want to be left behind. You can even change your face by including lip color, foundation colors, eye-shadows etc.

This is all we know about the LUMIX GF8 now. Pricing and other details are yet to be revealed.
