The music mogul Clive Davis and the glam factor at his pre-Grammy party were both worth taking a gander at.

This is the 40th anniversary of the pre-Grammy bash of Clive Davis. And it was held at the Beverly Hilton on a starry night on Sunday. Davis was there looking quite dapper.

He was surrounded as usual by his buddies and chums. Davis was ever the VIP. And his friends got some vicarious fame via being pointed out from the podium by the host of the party.

The party floor was filled with some quite rich and famous people who all had one thing in common: they knew Clive Davis directly or indirectly. Davis has left a name behind in music.

Such names as Ringo Starr, Herbie Hancock and One Direction band members Harry Styles and Zayn Malik were there and they all owe their careers to Clive Davis.

They had basically gathered to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Other luminaries included: Chris Rock, Jamie Foxx, Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer and Russell Wilson.

In between the hobnobbing and rubbing of shoulders were some stellar performances by some of the stars that were present. This really amped up the volume and jazzed up the atmosphere.

Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic were there to sort of lend a pre-Grammys tribute to David Bowie. This will match Lady Gaga’s tribute which is to come soon enough.

Barry Manilow was also present and he had just recovered from a surgical operation. Carly Simon was spotted and he was there as a replacement for Barry in case some unforseen complications arose.

Simon later on performed despite Barry doing his schtick, according to USAToday. Youthful artists such as Fetty Wap were talking the talk and walking the walk. Some new artists were also introduced.

The President’s Medal was awarded too. It is normally given to an industry veteran annually. Such important people as Richard Branson and David Geffen have received it in the past.

This time around, Irving Azoff was honored. This is not an ordinary man. He inspired such talented acts as Chicago, GNR and Christina Aguilera. A tribute to Maurice White was in the works somewhere too.

The death of Whitney Houston, four years ago was also something which many felt needed a tribute in the form of recognition of her versatile talent.
